Chicken Rock, so named because before the lodge was built we would picnic on the rock with our KFC and then see who could throw their chicken bones furthest, is a prominent landmark  approximately in the center of the Sunburst property.   It is a relatively short and easy hike to Chicken Rock if you are use to the altitude of 8,000 ft. and up to navigating a bit of steep terrain.   The rock itself is easy to scale and affords ample room on top to survey the surrounding mountain view and plains north of Casper.
